KidWind Challenge

Congratulations Cole N, Britt S, Katelyn J, Amy G, Aubrey D for taking first place in the regional KidWind Challenge that was held at Kellam this past Saturday.  These students designed and constructed a small-scale wind turbine from scratch and presented there design innovations to judges who work in the field of wind energy.  The students then had to test their wind turbine in a wind tunnel and be judged for power output.
Now these brave budding kellam engineers (after blowing away the competition) are headed to the National Challenge Event held at the USA Science and Engineering Festival in Washington, DC on April 26 to compete against the best of the best.  This showcase is one of the largest engineering festivals in the world and the KidWind Challenge is sure to be a major attraction. Over 200,000 people attend this event from all over the world.
Be sure to congratulate Cole N, Britt S, Katelyn J, Amy G, Aubrey D for a job well done.  And wish them luck in DC!!!!!!! Here are a few pics from the event.
Their fearless coaches also deserve a pat on the back Courtney Pace, Colin Claus and Chris Freeman
