ILLNESS: Students are cared for on a priority basis according to the acuity of their illness or injury. On arrival, students will be assessed and treated based on presenting symptoms. Parents will be notified from the clinic if their child will need to be picked up from school. Students who call parents from classrooms should be encouraged to go to the clinic to be evaluated to see if there is a true need for them to be picked up from school. Visits to the clinic are recorded for each student. Should there be a pattern of frequent visits from your child, you will be contacted to help us determine if there is a medical problem. We cannot accommodate students who are tired or have cramps and wish to come to the clinic to rest. The clinic does not supply crackers or snacks for students who do not eat breakfast or do not have lunch. Students are encouraged to bring their own snacks to school from home in the event they become hungry. The clinic is not authorized to give passes to the cafeteria for hungry students. |
