Kellam Band Spring Bazaar Saturday, April 25, 9-2

Summer Camps @ Kellam

Wednesday, April 29 is "Where Are You Going Wednesday?" Seniors, make sure to wear your college swag for the group picture during 4th block.

Come to Chipotle on Wednesday, May 19 between 4-9 to support Kellam's Senior Class. Mention that you are from Kellam and 50% or your order will be donated to the West Neck Educator's Club and used to finance scholarships for Kellam Seniors.

FORENSICS NEWS: Congratulations to the Kellam Forensics Team for placing 2nd in VHSL State Forensics Tournament in Midlothian, Va. The finalists included--Sabrina Heivilin, senior, 3rd in Storytelling; Lydia Lasky, sophomore, 2nd in Storytelling; Nona Palmer, junior, and Valerie Sanchez, junior, 1st place in Serious Duo; Hannah Hankle, freshman, and Elle Palmer, sophomore, 2nd place in Humorous Duo; Olivia Hankle, senior, and Nick Cooper, senior, 2nd place in Serious Duo.

Erin Metzger, junior, reigning 2014 Prose champion, won 1st place again in Prose, making her the first person in Kellam Forensics History to win the title twice!

CHORUS NEWS: Congratulations to both the Madrigals and Women's Select Ensembles for receiving a SUPERIOR rating at the District Choral Assessments recently. If you see the members of both these ensembles, please help me in congratulating them on their hard work and achievement!

Congratulations to Mr. Carl Copon for being named Choral Director of the Year.

New Attendance Notes Policy

  • VBCPS is currently in the process of reviewing School Board policy regarding electronic signatures. While the division undergoes this process, we are unable to accept emails and electronic signatures for attendance purposes.
  • In all cases of absence or tardiness, students must present a written excuse from a parent/guardian to the school stating the reason for the absence.
  • All excuse notes should be dropped off at the security desk.

Scholastic Bowl

The scholastic bowl team took second place in the conference tournament. The team led by Sean Burns, Iris Galante, Alexis Brownlee, and Meghan Bright all had strong matches. This finish qualifies them to compete in the Regional competition on February 14th in Richmond.  Good luck scholastic knights!!

Scholastic Bowl

The scholastic bowl team finished the regular season with a big win in the match at Norview HS Tuesday. The victory gives the team a 5 and 1 record in the conference standings, and clinched the number 2 seed in the conference tournament. The Knights are now scheduled to travel to Princess Anne HS next Tuesday to compete in the tournament with a chance to move on to the region championship.

Congratulations to all team members for the success in the regular season and good luck as the post season competition begins
