Governor's School for the Arts Information Night
On Tuesday, December 1st, the Governor’s School for the Arts (GSA) Information Night is being held at Plaza Middle School from 6:00-8:00 p.m. For more information please visit www.gsarts.net or see Mrs. Turner in room B120. All interested students are encouraged to attend!
Tutoring is offered every day from 8:00 – 1:30 in Room C212 by either a National Honor Society volunteer or a retired teacher. Students may attend during their study blocks (or late arrival/early release for seniors). Bright orange passes are available in room B219.
Middle School Drama Conferenc
Register now to attend a drama conference for middle school students on December 12. Students will attend 4 different workshops of their choosing (audition, leadership, make-up, sound, lights, props, scene study, choreography, vocal techniques, etc.). COST: $20.00 (Checks payable to Kellam High School)
The Virginia Athletic Council recognized Kellam HS with the “Best High School Sportsmanship Award” for the 2014-15. This recognition is a reflection of the athletes, coaches, teachers, administration and entire student body. Congratulations to everyone at Kellam for this recognition!
Congratulations to Ryan Drew! He'll be running cross country and track at VMI.Congratulations to Hannah Tammaro and Maddie Wilson who signed contracts with VCU and Towson. Hannah is off to Richmond to play field hockey and Maddie will be playing softball in Maryland.
The Scholastic Bowl team added another win to the team record in the match with Green Run here Monday. The Knights used a total team effort to lead to the 400 to 245 victory that improves the team record to 2 and 1 for the season.

The girls just keep on winning! They took over the region quarterfinals by beating Grassfield High. Colonial Forge steps into the Castle for a regional semifinal match on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. Let's pack the stands to show our support!
Congratulations to all members of the volleyball teams for the Kellam sweep over Tallwood.
The girls team clinched at least a share of the regular season title with the 3 set sweep. They will go after the outright championship in the next match. The boys team completed a season sweep of Tallwood with the shutout win. Both teams are scheduled to play the final regular season match on October 29 when they host Cox here on “Senior Recognition Night”. Come out and pack the stands to help cheer on the teams!
Cheerleading - Conference Champions
Congratulations to the Competition Cheer team for winning the Conference Championship! Hana Cole, Ally Copeland, and Tyler Brodeur were each named to the All-Conference team as they helped lead the Knights to the Conference title.
The cross country teams both advanced to the 6A South Region Championship meet with the performances at the Conference Championship meets. Both teams finished 3rd in the Coastal Conference meet to qualify for the region meet on November 5 at Bells Mill Park in Chesapeake. Ryan Drew and Christian McDonald placed 3rd and 5th to help lead the boys team, and Eileen Vedder and Taylor Jones placed 6th and 11th to help lead the girls team. Each of these individuals also earned all-conference honors with their performances.
Congratulations to all team members and good luck in the Region meet.
Members of the Kellam Orchestras and Ukulele Ensemble were joined by students from the Princess Anne Middle School Orchestra, and 2 amazing voices from the Kellam Chorus, for a very entertaining evening of music.
The various groups performed a selection of “Goin’ Country” music, with a sneak preview of the Spring Musical, to the delight of those who attended.

NSCAA Recognizes Kellam with the Girls 2014-15 High School Team Academic Award
The NSCAA annually recognizes high school soccer programs that have excelled in the classroom, in addition to their work on the field. A total of 248 girls from throughout the United States have earned the NSCAA Team Academic Award for exemplary performance in the classroom as a team during the 2014-15 academic year.
2015 Kellam Girls Soccer Team was recognized once again with a team record 3.71 GPA Please congratulate the members of the girls soccer team for achieving this great honor.
